It's snowing and supposed to snow a lot more. I haven't done my Christmas letter yet, nor addressed Christmas cards, nor packed anything for the drive to Florida, which is TOMORROW MORNING!!!!! So, of course, I spent yesterday making jewelry for the female nephpeople. Below are the pieces I am not giving to anyone. I don't think they're bad; I just thought some others were more appropriate for the intended recipients. Tonight I am doing laundry, hoping to pack, printing out 3 route maps for our small convoy (since Becky is moving down there, we are driving a U-Haul, her car and my car; my car is the only vehicle coming back to Michigan). With any luck, this will all become an amusing anecdote.
My very god friend Catherine gave me bailing pliers for Christmas, so I had to try twisting some brass pieces to make curly metal pendants.
Earrings. I've tried to arrange them so you can see the side or back view as well as the front view.
I'm trying to learn how to use resin - no great successes yet, but fewer dismal failures; so that's good.

Hi, Joanne!
I know you know you won a prize at the Marmelade Gypsy drawing -- just wanted you to know that I still have your address and hope to get to the post office early on next week. I tried yesterday -- my substation was closed!
Cheers!

Thanks for your lovely comments! I just wanted you to know that everyone I sent angels to has been wild about them! (I kept one for my tree, too!) They're a huge hit -- and I love telling the story about how we had met online and then at Artiscape! Are you going this year?
Happy new year, my friend!

I hope you had a safe journey to Florida. Love your jewelry pieces!!! What weight/gauge brass are you using? Also wondering if the 3 bezels are soldered or glued? Congrats too on winning Lorri's drawing.

Yikes -- you have been mighty busy. Hopefully, you made it to Florida safely. We got another dumping of snow and gale force winds. You're lucky to be outta here.
I hope you took those with you -- you should take them to the nearest Florida gallery!

These are stunning! You've become quite proficient! I'm sure the female grand-nephs will love whatever they get from Aunt Joanne! Oh, and I think I NEED those earrings with the beads dangling inside the folded metal!

I love your jewelry! Holy Cannoli! You really learned a bunch of fun stuff at the KIA. I also love the alpabet hangings. I want to see those closer. Hopefully you will share more info at your home with a little "play date". Safe trip to Florida. I am glad you are escaping this yucky weather. I didn't know Becky was moving down there. She is the smart one. Winter...Florida or Michigan???
See you when you get back.

I love the earrings, Joanne! I lean toward the long, dangling, and unique look when it comes to earrings. They're hard to find sometimes. Actually, some of my favorites are some I've bought that were handmade. And what the heck, packing, schmacking! What gets done, gets done. What doesn't? You can buy when you get there! LOL! Di ;)

Hmmm...I have to disagree with my evil twin...I think that is exactly what you should have been doing yesterday! Your resin "failures" sure look good to me, but your earrings are THE BOMB! Seriously, if I saw them in a store I'd buy them in a heartbeat! Have a great trip to Florida! jood

Have you considered psychiatric care? Maybe you should. This is not what you should have been doing yesterday. LOL These necklaces and earrings are splendid. Have a safe trip.
