The unusually mild Michigan winter gave way to a traditional snow storm this past week-end. I gave myself some snow days and indulged in painting papers and drinking a lot of hot chocolate.
I made some background stamps by cutting fun foam and then gluing it to a cut up cereal box.
I painted deli papers black and white...
I stamped white paint onto the black papers...
I stamped black ink onto the white papers...
And, I used color paints on some more deli papers...
I will use these papers in collages, to make fabric papers, and for backgrounds.
What a fun project....thanks so much for sharing!

Great papers! We are also finally getting some snow here - but I sure loved being spoiled with such mild weather! xo

Looks like you had fun. We did this in Tracy B's class. It was being a kid again. Messy, but fun.

Love your snowman. Here in Massachusetts we have had almost no snow this winter, which is fine with me. :-)
Love your fun foam stamped background papers. You will have lots of wonderful papers at hand for future art projects.

I spent that afternoon shoveling out my sidewalk and driveway, then going to my Mom's house and shoveling out her drive. I would much rather play with you!

Oooh! These are delicious!! What a great idea! I read somewhere the other day that someone was stamping foam stamps onto full-sheet adhesive label paper and cutting the sheet into strips to use as her own paper tape. I love your background technique and might give this a whirl.
