I finally finished the quilted piece I made in the Romancing the Quilt class with Kristen Robinson at Smitten Dust Studios a little over a week ago. We used canvas paper as a substrate in this class and I think it's a great base to work on. I think of my piece as more of a fabric collage than a quilt. Kristen generously provided fabrics and papers to use in our quilts. I used the ledger paper she provided and a bezel I made in her Adorned Relics (and a bezel I made outside of the class). I'm pleased with my piece and I enjoyed the inspiration Kristen provided in this class.
Below is my piece.
Below are close up photos of the quilt.
I used my painted/printed/stamped deli paper for the border. I painted part of the canvas paper. I sewed on a piece of batik and pieces of muslin that I had painted/printed and stamped. I embellished with free form sewing words, beading, emboidery stitches, ribbon made from my fabric, bezels (the one on the top right made in class, the one near the bottom I made at home), and buttons.
