The inspiration word for today is "powerful."
I used a photo I took of a pyramid when I was in Egypt in 2009. I then reduced the photo to one square inch, printed it out, and scraped it with a needle and colored in the sky and sun with markers. I considered redoing it to color it more smoothly, but I decided I like the rough feeling of the lines.
I may join in on this one when I can dig out. I need inchie experience -- this looks fun!

I have never thought about using this technique on a photo - very cool! This is a powerful piece - love it!

That's what is interesting about your inchie. I love impressionism, period. Gorgeous.

A great inchie! It's hard to imagine fitting a pyramid on such a small surface!

This week's inchie is making me feel like eating Matzoh.

I'm glad you didn't 'smooth' it out!

I really love this! The contrast of the photo realism of the ground compared with your hand drawn artistry on top is very fun!

I am so happy you explained what technique you used. I love it! I haven't scratched a photo in a long time and you made me think of that box of duplicates I saved for just that purpose. Thank you for the inspiration. Your inchie is very powerful.

I imagine you're still feeling the power of the pyramids since you were lucky enough to see them firsthand. I love this inchie, and I'm glad you didn't smooth the lines. The texture gives it more character.
